2007 Grammy Calibrations = What Are We Listening To?

Part 1 of a series

The ancient Chinese said that the consciousness of a culture is reflected in its music.

If that is true, then the consciousness of the United States population is reflected in the music that is being produced.

We are researching, testing, and calibrating music = of all genres.  We are doing this with major-label and independent artists, not only to feature here on this blog, but also as part of the database for our Conscious World Music membership site, which will launch later this year.
As part of our ongoing commitment, I think that it is important to research all of the different genres that have “supposedly” produced the “best” music in the past year.

Each year, the Grammy Awards are given to the “best” artists, producers, songwriters, engineers, mixers, etc.

This year, the 49th Annual Grammy Awards Nominee List was for recordings released during the Eligibility Year October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.

What are we, as a United States consumer culture, producing and consuming?

In this series, we will be sharing the results of our Consciousness Calibration Resesarch for all 32 Fields (General Field, plus 31 specific fields) and 108 categories.

You can then make an informed decision as to what type of environmental field you choose to create around yourself with the music that you listen to.

You are welcome to share this information with your friends.  Actually, we encourage you to do so, and we welcome your comments and feedback.

Thank you for being here.
